According to the Prime Minister, this convergence of policy support, talent and infrastructure is opening new business opportunities across sectors.

India unveiled several indigenous AI models and enterprise-focused applications in healthcare, agriculture, education and governance, highlighting their commercial potential and export readiness. These developments are expected to improve productivity, enable new service models and create markets for AI-driven platforms.

The New Delhi Declaration provides a broad framework for trusted and inclusive AI adoption, which industry experts believe will ease cross-border collaborations, encourage regulatory coherence and unlock innovation funding. This is likely to help companies scale operations across multiple geographies with greater certainty.

He emphasised that India’s startup ecosystem and youth-led research will be crucial in capturing a larger share of the global AI economy. He added that affordable and ethical AI solutions developed in India can meet the needs of both advanced and emerging markets.

With increased investments in data centres, semiconductor ecosystems and digital infrastructure, the summit is being viewed as a catalyst for job creation, capital inflows and technology exports. He said the global appreciation received at the event underscores India’s transition from a technology consumer to a leading producer of AI solutions with long-term economic impact.

AI key to India’s sovereignty, says Jeet Adani

Artificial intelligence will redefine national sovereignty and India must build its own core infrastructure to stay competitive and secure, Jeet Adani said at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

The Adani Group executive director stressed that control over energy, computing power and digital platforms will determine global leadership in the AI era. Depending on foreign systems for critical technologies, he warned, could expose the country to economic and strategic risks.

Highlighting the link between power and technology, he said AI runs on electricity and nations that produce reliable, clean energy will gain a major advantage. He called for large renewable-energy capacities to support data centres and high-performance computing within India.

He added that AI should first solve India’s development challenges, improving productivity, expanding financial inclusion and strengthening service delivery, rather than only mirroring global consumption models.

Adani said “AI sovereignty” does not mean isolation but ensuring that key digital infrastructure and data processing capabilities are located in the country. This would allow startups, researchers and industries to access affordable computing and accelerate innovation across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing and logistics.

Pointing to the group’s massive investment plans, he said the proposed green energy–driven AI ecosystem would combine renewable power with data infrastructure at scale and could become the foundation for a much larger technology network.

PM Modi says India ready to lead global AI era

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has positioned India as a major force in the rapidly evolving global artificial intelligence landscape, describing AI as a “civilisational inflection point” that will reshape economies, governance and daily life.

Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit, he said India’s AI strategy is built on inclusion, innovation and technological self-reliance, with a focus on ensuring that the benefits of the technology reach all sections of society. He underlined that AI should not remain in the hands of a few countries or corporations but must serve humanity at large.

The Prime Minister highlighted that India’s digital public infrastructure has created a strong foundation for developing affordable and scalable AI solutions. This model, he said, can support not only domestic growth but also offer pathways for other developing nations.

Addressing concerns over job losses, Modi said the emphasis is on skilling and reskilling the workforce to prepare for new opportunities in an AI-driven economy. Rather than replacing human effort, he noted, AI will enhance productivity and improve outcomes in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education and public service delivery.

He also pointed to India’s young talent pool, vibrant startup ecosystem and expanding computing capacity as key strengths that will help the country transition from being a technology adopter to a global technology creator.

Calling for responsible innovation, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of ethical, transparent and bias-free AI systems. He urged greater international cooperation to develop frameworks that ensure safety, trust and equitable access.

The summit brought together policymakers, industry leaders and researchers from across the world, reflecting India’s ambition to shape the global AI agenda while using the technology as a tool for inclusive growth and social transformation.

The 70,000-sq-m expo, featuring hundreds of startups, country pavilions and global technology firms, provided a live marketplace for customer acquisition, government-enterprise engagement and capital flows.

 India is leveraging its data scale, digital infrastructure and policy push to move up the global AI value chain, positioning itself as both a high-growth market and a strategic innovation base for companies looking to build for the world.
