Nikhil Kamath’s podcast to feature Anthropic CEO

Zerodha co-founder and podcaster Nikhil Kamath is set to host Dario Amodei, the chief executive of Anthropic, for a wide-ranging and unscripted discussion on artificial intelligence, its risks and its transformative potential.

Kamath announced the upcoming episode of his podcast People by WTF on social media, sharing a short teaser that frames the conversation as a deep dive into the technology that is rapidly reshaping industries and economies. The full episode is yet to be released.

In the preview, Amodei describes the rise of advanced AI as an approaching “tsunami”, cautioning that most people are underestimating the scale and speed of change. He points to sweeping economic disruption, shifts in global power and the urgent need to build strong safety frameworks as some of the biggest challenges ahead.

The discussion is expected to cover concerns around job displacement, the concentration of technological power and the geopolitical race to dominate AI development. At the same time, Amodei emphasises that the technology itself is not inherently dangerous, but its impact will depend on how responsibly it is developed and deployed.

Kamath noted that those building cutting-edge AI systems are often among the most vocal about the need for safeguards, reflecting growing awareness within the industry about the risks of uncontrolled advancement.

Amodei previously led AI safety research at OpenAI before co-founding Anthropic in 2021 with a focus on creating more reliable and controllable AI models. He has consistently warned that future systems could surpass human capabilities in several domains, bringing both unprecedented opportunity and serious challenges.

The episode adds to Kamath’s list of global business and technology leaders featured on his podcast and comes amid intensifying global debate over how AI will reshape work, regulation and international competition in the years ahead.

Nikhil Kamath, Kishore Biyani launch The Foundery for startups

Entrepreneurs Nikhil Kamath and Kishore Biyani have launched The Foundery, a new programme to help aspiring startup founders turn ideas into real businesses. Unlike traditional courses, this is a 90‑day hands-on, residential programme where participants live and work together on building startups. The goal is to learn by doing, with guidance from experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts.

The Foundery is based in Alibaug, Maharashtra, where selected participants will focus on validating ideas, developing products, testing the market, and shaping business strategies. Instead of classroom lessons, the programme emphasizes practical work to prepare startups for real-world challenges.

A key feature is the equity structure: participants who help build startups can retain up to 25% ownership. Promising startups may also receive seed funding up to ₹4 crore and continued support after the programme.

Applications are open until mid‑January 2026, with a non-refundable ₹5,000 registration fee. The first batch will include around 30 co-founders, and roughly 20 business ideas will be selected for development.

The selection process focuses on creativity, problem-solving, resilience, and a founder mindset, rather than formal degrees or polished presentations. Participants can be aspiring founders, mid-career professionals, or early-stage entrepreneurs ready to relocate for the residential programme.

Mentors include notable names such as Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Paytm), Kunal Bahl (Snapdeal), Mithun Sacheti (CaratLane), and Varun Berry (Britannia), who will guide participants on idea design, execution, and growth.

Each cohort will end with a Demo Day, where startups pitch to investors and explore funding and partnership opportunities.

The Foundery aims to provide a supportive environment for founders to learn, experiment, and scale their ideas into successful startups, bridging the gap between vision and execution in India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Elon Musk imagines a future where work is a choice

Elon Musk has once again pushed the conversation on the future of work into bold new territory. Speaking openly on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, the Tesla and SpaceX chief painted a picture of a world where people wake up each day and choose to work, not because they must, but because they want to.

Musk believes rapid advances in artificial intelligence and robotics will soon be powerful enough to take over most routine and even skilled tasks. His timeline is striking: within just 10 to 20 years, he expects machines to generate the goods and services people need, making full-time jobs optional for many.

In Musk’s view, this shift could also transform the idea of money itself. If AI systems can produce almost everything at near-zero cost, traditional economic rules may no longer apply. “Work may become more like a hobby,” he suggested, something people would pursue for meaning, passion, or creativity instead of financial survival.

While his prediction sounds liberating, Musk acknowledged the transformations won’t be simple. Societies will need to rethink purpose, income models and the role of human contribution. But he remained optimistic that freeing people from compulsory labour could unlock a more creative, fulfilled world.
