OnePlus Ace 7 Series debuts with huge battery

OnePlus has launched two new smartphones, the OnePlus Ace 7 and OnePlus Ace 7 Pro, in China, bringing substantial battery capacity, high-resolution cameras and gaming-focused features to its latest lineup. The phones, unveiled on October 29, come with 9,000mAh batteries, 200-megapixel primary cameras and support for 100W fast charging. The launch strengthens the company’s focus on users looking for powerful smartphones for gaming, photography and everyday use.

The biggest talking point is the 9,000mAh battery fitted in both models. Smartphone users who regularly play games, stream videos or spend long hours on their devices often look for better battery life. OnePlus is targeting this demand with a battery capacity considerably higher than that found in many conventional smartphones. The company claims the battery can support up to 24 hours of video playback under its testing conditions.

Despite the large battery, users will not have to wait excessively long to recharge their phones. Both models support 100W wired fast charging. OnePlus says the Ace 7 Pro can reach around 60% charge in 30 minutes under specified conditions. Actual charging time may vary depending on usage, temperature and other factors.

Camera performance is another major feature of the new OnePlus Ace 7 series. Both smartphones carry a 200-megapixel primary rear camera, designed to capture detailed photographs. The Ace 7 Pro gets an additional advantage with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom. This can help users photograph distant subjects without relying entirely on digital zoom.

The standard Ace 7 has a different secondary camera arrangement, including an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The Pro model’s telephoto camera is likely to appeal to people who regularly photograph landscapes, buildings and distant subjects. However, the final quality of images will also depend on software processing, lighting conditions and camera performance in everyday situations.

OnePlus has also placed considerable emphasis on gaming. Both devices feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K. The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz during regular system use and can reach 185Hz in compatible games. A higher refresh rate allows the display to update more frequently, making movement and animations appear smoother. The full benefit, however, depends on whether individual games support the higher frame rates.

The company has introduced a dual-path Glacier Air Cooling System to manage heat during extended gaming sessions. Smartphones can become warm when running demanding games or applications for long periods. Excessive heat can affect performance and user comfort. OnePlus says its cooling arrangement is designed to improve heat dissipation and maintain more stable performance during intensive use.

The two smartphones also differ in their processors. The standard OnePlus Ace 7 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series chipset, while the Ace 7 Pro uses the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Both are positioned in the premium performance segment and are designed to handle demanding applications, multitasking and mobile gaming.

The Ace 7 is available in configurations offering up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The Pro model offers configurations of up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Both phones run ColorOS 17, based on the latest Android software platform offered in the Chinese market.

In terms of pricing, the OnePlus Ace 7 starts at 4,399 Chinese yuan, approximately ₹63,000, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Higher configurations are priced at 4,899 yuan, 5,199 yuan and 5,699 yuan. The Ace 7 Pro starts at 4,799 yuan, approximately ₹69,000, for its 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. Its top-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant is priced at 7,299 yuan, roughly ₹1.04 lakh. These rupee figures are approximate conversions and do not represent expected Indian retail prices.

The phones are scheduled to go on sale in China from November 3 through the Oppo online store. The Ace 7 is available in Midnight Black, Streamer White and another colour option, while the Pro model comes in Flowing White, Midnight Black and Windbreaker finishes.

For Indian buyers, the biggest unanswered question is availability. OnePlus has not announced an India launch date or confirmed pricing for either device. Previous Ace-series phones have served as the basis for R-series models in India, including the Ace 5 and OnePlus 13R. This has led to speculation that the new Ace 7 could eventually be adapted for the Indian market, possibly under a different name. However, the company has not confirmed such plans.

With its large battery, 200MP camera, fast charging and high-refresh-rate display, the OnePlus Ace 7 series is aimed at consumers seeking a combination of endurance and performance. Whether the devices reach India, and at what price, will determine how strongly they compete in the country’s premium smartphone segment.
