OnePlus has announced fresh rollout dates for its Android 17-based software update, giving smartphone and tablet users a clearer idea of when they can expect the latest operating system. However, the bigger development is the company’s transition from OxygenOS to Oppo’s ColorOS 17 for supported devices, marking a major change in its software strategy.
The November 2026 rollout schedule includes several OnePlus smartphones, including the OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 12, OnePlus Open and Nord series. The update will also reach selected Oppo and Realme devices, extending the Android 17 experience across the three smartphone brands.
The latest schedule was shared through OnePlus and Oppo’s official community channels. The rollout began on November 5, with the OnePlus 13R among the first devices listed for the update. The company has confirmed additional dates for older flagship smartphones, tablets and selected mid-range models.
The transition is significant because OxygenOS has long been one of OnePlus’ distinguishing features. Known for its relatively clean interface and customisation options, the software helped the company build a distinct identity among Android smartphone users. Moving supported devices to ColorOS 17 brings the software experience closer to Oppo’s ecosystem.
According to the updated schedule, six OnePlus devices are included in the November rollout.
The OnePlus 13R was scheduled to receive the update from November 5, while the OnePlus 12 is next in line on November 17. The OnePlus Pad 3 is scheduled for November 18.
The OnePlus Open, the company’s first foldable smartphone, is expected to receive ColorOS 17 from November 24. The OnePlus Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 are scheduled for November 26.
These dates indicate the beginning of the rollout rather than a guaranteed installation date for every user. OnePlus will distribute the update in phases, meaning availability may differ depending on the region, device variant and carrier.
The shift from OxygenOS to ColorOS 17 is the biggest change accompanying the Android 17 update. OnePlus has increasingly aligned its software development with Oppo, its parent company, and the latest transition takes that integration further.
OxygenOS and ColorOS have shared several underlying technologies and features over the years. However, supported OnePlus devices will now receive ColorOS 17 instead of a separate OxygenOS 17 upgrade under the announced transition.
The new software is based on Android 17 and brings changes to the interface, animations, system performance and artificial intelligence features.
The move could also make software development and updates more streamlined across the two brands. However, the change may disappoint longtime OnePlus users who preferred OxygenOS for its distinct design and user experience.
The Android 17 rollout will continue beyond November, covering additional OnePlus smartphones and tablets.
The December 2026 schedule includes OnePlus 12R and OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, OnePlus Nord CE 5, OnePlus Pad 2 and OnePlus Pad Go 2
The rollout will extend into the first quarter of 2027 for the OnePlus Nord 4, Nord N6, Nord N6x, Nord N6 Lite and OnePlus Pad Lite.
These devices are part of the broader Android 17 update roadmap, although individual release dates for the December and 2027 batches have not been announced.
The November update schedule covers Oppo and Realme smartphones alongside OnePlus devices.
Oppo’s Reno 15 series will receive the update from November 18. Eligible models include the Reno 15 Pro Max, Reno 15 Pro, Reno 15 Pro Mini and Reno 15. The Reno 15c is scheduled for November 19, while the Reno 15 F is expected on November 23.
The Oppo Find N3, Find N3 Flip, Reno 14 Pro, Reno 14, Reno 14 Diwali Edition and Reno 14 F are scheduled for November 24.
The Oppo K14, K14x, F33 and F31 are expected to receive the update on November 25, followed by the K13x and F29 on November 26.
Realme has also included several smartphones in its November rollout. The Realme GT 7 and GT 7 Dream Edition were scheduled for November 5, while the GT 7T is expected on November 18.
The November 19 update schedule includes the Realme 16 5G, Realme 15 Pro, Realme 15, Realme 15x, Realme 15T, Realme P4 Pro, Realme P4, Narzo 90 and Narzo 90x.
ColorOS 17 focuses on improving smartphone performance, visual design and everyday usability. The update introduces interface refinements, smoother animations, updated system elements and additional customisation options.
Artificial intelligence is another important part of the upgrade. The software brings AI-powered capabilities designed to improve productivity, simplify everyday tasks and make interactions with supported applications more convenient.
Performance improvements are also a key focus, with the company working to make app launches, multitasking and system navigation smoother.
However, the availability of certain features may depend on individual smartphone models, hardware capabilities and regional software versions.
OnePlus, Oppo and Realme users with eligible devices can check for the update by opening Settings and navigating to About device. They can then select the software update option to see whether ColorOS 17 is available.
Users should ensure that their smartphones have sufficient battery power and storage space before downloading and installing the update. Backing up important information is also advisable before installing a major software upgrade.
The Android 17 rollout marks an important phase for OnePlus, Oppo and Realme. While the new software promises performance improvements and additional AI features, the move away from OxygenOS is likely to generate considerable discussion among OnePlus users
