Jio launches ₹10,000 plan with three-year validity

Unlimited 5G, calls, JioHotstar and cloud storage included in new long-term recharge

Reliance Jio has introduced a new ₹10,000 prepaid recharge plan that offers three years of mobile connectivity, unlimited 5G data and access to multiple digital services through a single payment. The new offering, which comes with a validity of 1,095 days, is aimed at customers looking for long-term connectivity without the inconvenience of monthly or annual recharges.

The telecom operator has described the offering as an industry-first three-year unlimited connectivity plan. Available nationwide from November 7, 2026, the recharge combines voice calling, high-speed internet, entertainment subscriptions, productivity tools and cloud storage.

Under the new Jio prepaid plan, subscribers will receive unlimited voice calls across all networks, 2.5GB of high-speed data every day, unlimited 5G data access and 100 SMS messages per day. The package also includes JioHotstar Mobile + Hollywood access, a 12-month Canva Pro Lite subscription and 50GB of complimentary storage on JioAICloud.

The biggest attraction is its extended validity. Customers can pay ₹10,000 once and continue using the included connectivity services for three years without having to renew their prepaid connection periodically. Jio has also highlighted price certainty as a major benefit, allowing subscribers to secure the plan’s stated pricing and benefits throughout the validity period.

The daily data allowance of 2.5GB translates into approximately 2,737.5GB of high-speed data over three years. Customers with compatible 5G smartphones and access to Jio’s True 5G network can additionally enjoy unlimited 5G data, subject to the company’s eligibility conditions. This distinction is important because the daily data allowance and unlimited 5G access are separate benefits.

Apart from connectivity, Jio has bundled entertainment and productivity services to make the recharge more attractive. The JioHotstar Mobile + Hollywood subscription gives users access to premium entertainment, live sports, original programmes and Hollywood content. This could appeal to subscribers who regularly watch films, television shows and sporting events on their smartphones.

The plan also includes a 12-month Canva Pro Lite subscription. Canva is widely used by students, professionals, content creators and businesses to design presentations, social media graphics, posters and other visual material. The additional design tools and templates could be useful for people who regularly create digital content.

Another benefit is 50GB of complimentary storage on JioAICloud. Subscribers can use the service to store photographs, documents and other digital files. By including cloud storage, Jio is extending the package beyond traditional telecom services and positioning it as a broader digital offering.

However, customers should note that the Canva Pro Lite subscription is valid for 12 months, not the entire three-year period. The validity conditions of individual bundled services should also be checked before purchasing the recharge.

The pricing of the new plan makes it worth comparing with Jio’s existing annual prepaid options. For instance, the company’s ₹3,599 annual recharge offers 365 days of validity, unlimited voice calls, 2.5GB daily data, unlimited 5G access and 100 SMS per day, along with digital benefits.

A customer purchasing the ₹3,599 annual plan three times would spend ₹10,797 over approximately three years. In comparison, the new ₹10,000 recharge costs ₹797 less over the same period. Its effective daily cost works out to approximately ₹9.13, while the monthly equivalent is around ₹278.

This makes the long-term recharge potentially attractive to customers who intend to remain with Jio and regularly use its mobile services. However, the upfront payment of ₹10,000 could be a hurdle for subscribers who prefer smaller recharge amounts or want the flexibility to change operators.

Customers can purchase the new Jio three-year prepaid plan through the MyJio application, the company’s official website, Jio retail stores, authorised outlets and other available recharge channels across India.

The launch also highlights the changing nature of competition in India’s telecom industry. Operators are increasingly looking beyond conventional voice and data packages to attract customers through bundled entertainment, cloud services and digital productivity tools. With mobile internet consumption rising across streaming, gaming, digital payments and online work, such combinations are becoming an important part of telecom offerings.

For Reliance Jio, the three-year plan could help strengthen customer retention by encouraging subscribers to remain with its network for a longer period. The single-payment structure also provides greater visibility over future prepaid revenue while giving customers protection against potential tariff increases on the plan during its validity.

Whether the ₹10,000 recharge gains widespread acceptance will depend on how customers assess its upfront cost against the long-term benefits. For subscribers who value uninterrupted connectivity, unlimited 5G access and bundled digital services, the plan offers an alternative to conventional prepaid recharges.
