HP Launches Omen 16 Gaming Laptop in India with AI Features, Advanced Cooling, and RTX 5070 Ti GPU
The Omen 16 is designed to deliver sustained high performance, with support for up to 170W Total Processor Power (TPP) and 115W GPU power
HP on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) launched the refreshed Omen 16 gaming laptop in India, targeting performance-hungry gamers with upgraded processors, powerful GPUs, and AI-driven customisation features. The new device comes in multiple configurations, offering customers a choice between Intel’s 14th Gen Core HX-series or AMD’s Ryzen 9 processors, paired with up to Nvidia’s latest GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU with 12 GB GDDR6 VRAM.
The Omen 16 is designed to deliver sustained high performance, with support for up to 170W Total Processor Power (TPP) and 115W GPU power. To ensure stability during long gaming sessions, HP has introduced a re-engineered cooling system featuring new fan-cleaning technology. This system can reverse fan rotation to eject dust, helping prevent heat build-up and ensuring consistent peak performance. The cooling features are fully accessible via the Omen Gaming Hub, HP’s proprietary control center for performance tuning, thermals, and system monitoring.
Omen Gaming Hub and AI Enhancements
A major highlight is the inclusion of Omen AI, a smart optimisation layer that uses machine learning to recommend power modes, thermal settings, and game-specific performance tweaks. The Omen Gaming Hub also offers detailed system personalisation, including fan curve controls, battery performance modes, and in-game overlays for real-time monitoring.
Display and Lighting Features
For immersive visuals, the Omen 16 sports a 16-inch QHD (2560x1600) display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 500 nits brightness, and 100% sRGB coverage. The high-refresh panel caters to competitive esports gamers as well as creators looking for smooth rendering.
The laptop also features per-key RGB customisable lighting, complemented by an optional under-chassis RGB light bar. Both are managed through Omen Light Studio, giving gamers granular control over lighting profiles and sync options across devices.
Battery, Build, and Connectivity
Powering the laptop is a 6-cell 83Wh battery with fast-charge support, capable of charging from 0–50% in around 30 minutes. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring faster, more stable connections for online gaming. Ports include Thunderbolt 4 (on Intel variants), HDMI 2.1, USB-C, multiple USB-A ports, and a full-sized SD card reader, making it suitable for both gaming and creative workflows.
The Omen 16 comes in a premium Shadow Black chassis with a refined design focused on portability, weighing around 2.4 kg—relatively light for a high-performance gaming machine.
India Pricing and Availability
The HP Omen 16 gaming laptop is available starting at ₹1,29,999, with higher-end models going above ₹2,00,000 depending on configuration. It will be sold through the HP Online Store, HP World retail outlets, Amazon, Croma, Reliance Digital, and other leading partners.
Competitive Landscape
With this launch, HP is strengthening its presence in India’s growing gaming laptop market, where brands like Asus ROG, Lenovo Legion, Dell Alienware, and MSI dominate the enthusiast segment. The combination of AI-backed system optimisation, powerful RTX 5070 Ti graphics, and next-gen cooling makes the Omen 16 a direct challenger in the premium category.
HP has also bundled Omen Gaming Hub ecosystem integration with HyperX accessories, allowing for seamless use of HP’s peripherals like gaming headsets, keyboards, and mice.
